Hi, I bought this caller (BG) to help me round up my ducks when I need to close them in for the night (2 Cayuga drakes, if that matters?) I'm trying to blow through it in short bursts and no matter how I do it all I hear is straight whistle. The flat end is the mouthpiece, correct? Am I holding it wrong? Am I supposed to cover the opening under the mouthpiece?🤔🙄🥴

I have hound hunted all of my life...and still hunted as well...long ago in Texas and 30 years Louisiana and Arkansas.Ive had about 2 pumps, a pump remington 880( real clunky)..and last few years a 700$ Winchester auto Sx4.I dislike all that recoil. Thought it'd never go away..til the Sx4.Now for me it's lighter and easier to tote to walk in where a deer escape route is.With the Sx4 just throw up the bead is close.If you shoot no need to worry about making a good second shot.....you can stay on!

I used BOSS. I loved it, but i mostly use them for my older guns! Now, the TSS/steel mix. My brother and I went half on a case. 5 boxes for the season. I have 1 1/2 boxes left. I was more conservative at first with the cost. After I saw what it could do, I was sold. Now I got the 2 and 9 shot. I've also killed Canadian geese as well. I'll use apex steel/tss over straight steel or bismuth.

Jimmy Muller stands behind his products too. I had one of his tubes that got stuck in a barrel. The gunsmith damaged the tube while removing it. I met with jimmy because he wanted to see the tube and he replaced it for me free of charge on the spot. To me that was going above and beyond.

I dove hunt with my beretta 682 o/u with a set of briley non ported been hard to beat it is my Trap gun but barrels are ported but did buy a browning gold hunter this year just to play with and will get smooth chokes just have better outcomes in my experience. Only ported choke I own is a jelly head for a rem 870 super mag to turkey hunt and can kill them out to 70 with hevishot won’t shoot past that at a turkey because that’s not fun to snipe them past that imo. The closer they are the bigger the rush! Moral of the story is you have to shoot your gun and fix your gun for you, you can’t have someone else’s set up and expect it to be the same.

Always butcher your own meat and take care to keep it clean. When butchering, de-bone and get rid of silver skin etc and use that for burger. I haven’t had a “gamey” piece of meat since!

I like see you do this shotgun series with 20ga as 20ga shooter all my friends think I at big disadvantage please prove them wrong

As a general rule of thumb, do you prefer more pellets in a smaller shot size or less pellets with more energy/penetration per pellet? (Assuming both pellets are the same material)

@SurvivingDuckSeason Regarding the purpose of Ported Tubes. I understood the reason for porting was to function as a Wad stripper. Creating a vacuum behind the wad to pull it away from the shot string. I'm curious if that was observed with the high speed camera???

Does shot string vary with amount of shot in a shell?

My question is because the shot does not leave the wad until a few feet outside the barrel. Is the choke effecting the pulse of air out the barrel to hold the wad closed longer/shorter creating the pattern?? It seems to me the choke is more advancing or delaying the opening of the wad than actually effecting the shot inside of it.

Literally bought a muller passing choke immediately for my SBE 20 gauge. Would love to see how these muller chokes perform with lead shot. Especially Kent FastLead. I don’t really shoot waterfowl but I do hunt doves and crows. And I particularly love picking a high flyer out of the sky.

Here's an idea for you. With your scientific approach to hunting, I think I have found an opportunity. I've been searching for a real-world comparison measuring recoil - with real numbers - between gas operated and inertia guns. Everyone seems convinced that inertia recoils harder. But I just cannot find any numbers to back that up.... And how big is the difference? Does stock design actually help? It could make for a good video as it's a controversial topic.

I'm really surprised that you X'ed the Browning Maxus but went with the SX4. I understood they were inherently the same gun?

I did some sporting clay shooting with a friend. I had a blast. I thought a shotgun was a shotgun but after a little looking I see that's not the case. I would like to duck hunt and do sporting clays. Would love to know If I can use 1 gun for both?

A truly CLASSIC example of the practical working opposite of the theory. Patternmaster is a gimmick. I have regretted the purchase of all three Code Black Chokes. I had never seen a benefit. Certainly no cost to performance benefit as indicated by a higher kill rate.

There is an old video of testing steel shot by in 1987 on UA-cam. This was when the game and fish and hunting guides were testing the effectiveness of the steel shot they tested reloaded steel shot of size bb and 6 shot, which was the time when those shot size Weren't commercially available at the time but they had it custom made. They also test factory 4, 2 ,and 1 shot on both ducks and geese with no problems. The fastest load test at the time was going at 1390 fps, and some may have gone at 1250 fps and still killed duck and geese with no problems.

21:23 the ported choke's shotstring is longer in the beginning and less pellets in the bottom of the wad are grouped together maybe it means that wad is not pushing back pellets and that's why the shotstring is longer and with longer shotstring at 25 feet most of the pellets is not reversing (grouped pellets render subsonic later than pellets in front) and that's why on the target the pattern is more tight, so i guess patternmaster knows the trick.
